Summary:

The California Earthquake Authority (CEA) is a publicly managed, largely privately funded organization that provides catastrophic residential earthquake insurance and encourages Californians to reduce their risk of earthquake loss. CEA Insurance policy data is collected and electronically submitted by multiple Participating Insurers (PIs) to the CEA’s data vendor. Additionally, CEA staff or vendors cannot currently submit data in the form of diary entries or notes that are attached to specific policy records. The New Earthquake Information Center (NEIC) Project will provide the CEA with a hosted data management system that allows for the processing and storing of insurance data from multiple internal and external sources.

The NEIC will also provide secure access to authorized users to perform queries, generate reports, export data and perform business analysis. This system functionality will provide CEA the ability to perform premium and claim management tracking and reporting, and data error management tracking and reporting.
